Take Action Now:Call your senators TODAY at 202-224-3121 and urge them to confirm U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit nominee David Hamilton without further delay.
After considerable delay since David Hamilton's nomination in March 2009, the Senate will likely vote tomorrow, November 17 to confirm him to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
The Seventh Circuit (Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin) is the court of last resort for 25 million Americans on issues including workplace protections, women’s rights, civil rights, and regulation of the financial market.
Judge Hamilton is an unquestionably qualified jurist with a 14-year record of service on the bench. He has a history of handing down fair and judicious decisions based upon the careful application of the facts of cases to the law. Hamilton's record indicates that he understands the court’s role in protecting the rights of all Americans and ensuring equal justice and treatment.
Judge Hamilton has a stellar record and has broad support across partisan and ideological lines, reaching all corners of the legal community. He has the enthusiastic support of both of his home-state senators, Sen. Richard Lugar, R. Ind., and Sen. Evan Bayh, D. Ind.
The Senate must not be swayed by the efforts of a small number of ideological extremists who wish to tarnish Judge Hamilton's outstanding reputation as a jurist. It is troubling that some senators have chosen to put partisan politics above constituent needs by obstructing the confirmation of a well-qualified nominee to this critical appointment of which people depend.
Call your senators at 202-224-3121 and tell them to confirm David Hamilton, nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit without further delay.
