"Not by the Color of Their Skin"

Racial profiling refers to the practice used primarily by law enforcement officials of targeting and/or treating individuals unfairly based on their perceived race, ethnicity, religion, or national origin. The act of racial profiling was wrong when King urged its end; and it is wrong now.

>>Call members of Congress and urge them to cosponsor and pass the End Racial Profiling Act (ERPA)!

The State of Our Union: #DoBetter2012

Did you watch President Obama bring the U.S. House and Senate together for the State of the Union address? During his address, the president told members of Congress and the nation what he wants to achieve this year.  Tweet John Boehner and Harry Reid, or post on Facebook to share your thoughts on the civil and human rights issues Congress must address this year.

Tell Senators: We Need Jobs Now!

President Obama's American Jobs Act must be considered by the Senate. We need real solutions to address the jobs crisis. It is time to put Americans back to work.

>>Call your senators today and tell them to support the American Jobs Act and put Americans back to work!

Write Your Senators: Demand Confirmation Votes

The Constitution calls for senators to “advise and consent” on the president’s judicial nominations. But instead of following this process, a small group of senators has waged a persistent campaign of obstruction that has led to an unprecedented backlog of judicial branch nominees awaiting unable to receive consideration by the full Senate. This stonewalling for political gain leads to courtrooms without judges and people across the country unable to access the courts.

>> Write your senators and tell them to commit to supporting the timely confirmation of pending judicial nominees!
