LCCR Internships

The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR) is the nation’s oldest, largest and most diverse civil and human rights coalition. LCCR has coordinated the national legislative campaign on behalf of every major civil rights law since 1957. Its mission today is more urgent than ever: to unite all Americans as one nation true to its promise of equal justice, equal opportunity and mutual respect.

LCCR offers a substantive, fast-paced internship program designed to give undergraduate and graduate students interested in civil rights, public service, advocacy, journalism and online communications, real-world work experience in the policy arena. The program provides interns the chance to increase their knowledge and awareness of civil and human rights issues, enhance their understanding of coalition politics, and observe and participate in the process of lobbying and the legislative process of our federal government. Interns are also involved in website content development, online publishing and communications.

LCCR interns work out of our office in downtown Washington, DC, easily accessible by Metro or several bus lines.
