The Leadership Conference is working diligently to see that Tom Perez is confirmed as U.S. Secretary of Labor. Perez is an eminently qualified public servant and consensus builder who has dedicated his career to ensuring that all individuals are treated fairly and have the opportunity to succeed. Organizations in cities throughout the United States will be taking part in and sponsoring activities to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on January 18, 2010. It will also be an opportunity to communicate the importance of participation in the 2010 census, especailly for communities that have been historically undercounted.
