Racial Profiling: Wrong Then, Wrong Now
Feature Story by civilrights.org staff - February 21, 2003
Profiling is just as wrong now as it was before the war on terrorism began, concludes a new report from the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund. Using statistical and anecdotal evidence, Wrong Then, Wrong Now: Racial Profiling Before and After September 11, compares the practice of "traditional" street-level racial profiling with the post-September 11 profiling of Arabs, Sikhs, Muslims, and South Asians, and makes recommendations designed to combat all forms of racial profiling. The report is embargoed for release until February 27, 2003.
