About the Partners

Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund (LCCREF)

Founded in 1969 as the education and research arm of the nation's oldest, largest and most diverse civil rights coalition, LCCREF promotes an understanding of the need for national policies that support civil rights and social and economic justice, and encourages an appreciation of the nation's diversity. Initiatives are grounded in the belief that an informed public is more likely to support effective federal civil rights and social justice policies. LCCREF has extensive experience developing public education campaigns, such as "Fair Housing: It's Not An Option. It's The Law." Other LCCREF programs include: an affirmative action project to preserve this vital equal opportunity resource, an electoral reform initiative to help ensure that every vote counts, a community tensions prevention and response initiative, a youth-initiated hate violence education and awareness program.

National Fair Housing Alliance - NFHA

NFHA is a membership organization representing virtually all of the private, non-profit fair housing education and enforcement agencies in the United States. Through education, enforcement, training and advocacy, NFHA promotes equal housing, lending and insurance opportunities. In 2001, NFHA's members assisted, conciliated or litigated more than 16,500 housing discrimination complaints. NFHA is one of the nation's most effective fair housing watchdogs, institutionalizing testing programs that help to uncover and redress discrimination.

The Ad Council

The Ad Council is a private, non-profit organization that marshals volunteer talent from the advertising and communications industries, the facilities of the media, and the resources of the business and non-profit communities to deliver critical messages to the American public. The Ad Council produces, distributes and promotes thousands of public service campaigns on behalf of non-profit organizations and government agencies. Improving the quality of life for children, preventive health, education, community well being, environmental preservation and strengthening families are among the issue areas.
