Poverty among Children and Immigrants Increases; Number of Uninsured Declines
Poverty among children and immigrants in the United States significantly increased from 2006 to 2007, according to the Census Bureau's annual report on income, earnings, and poverty, released on August 26.

Concern for 2010 Census Grows
A lack of resources for the upcoming census was a primary area of concern at a July 10 House subcommittee hearing held to investigate what the Census Bureau is doing to reduce the undercount in 2010. Witnesses at the hearing said that more funds are needed to accurately count minorities and low-income groups.
