New Ad Opposes Nominee Janice Rogers Brown

A new television ad highlighting the extremist record of controversial judicial nominee Janice Rogers Brown will begin airing Thursday on national cable and in Maine, Rhode Island, and Nebraska.A broad range of civil rights groups have opposed Rogers Brown, who has been nominated for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
The 30-second spot, which will run for one week, focuses on Rogers Brown's harsh attacks on individual rights, Social Security, and health and safety laws.
According to the text of the ad, Rogers Brown, "a radical judge, threatens to turn back" these rights.
The ad, produced by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR), will run for approximately one week.
Of Rogers Brown, LCCR has said, "Not only does she show an inability to dispassionately review cases, but her opinions are based on her extremist ideology and ignore judicial precedent, even that set by the United States Supreme Court."
