2) Petition Circulator Testifies in Signature Fraud Trial

A ballot circulator took the stand Tuesday, affirming the Nebraskans United organization's allegations of National Ballot Access petition fraud. National Ballot Access circulated a petition to put an initiative banning affirmative action practices in the state on the Nov. 4 ballot.

Amendment 46 isn't as simple as it seems, and there have been disingenuous arguments on both sides of the issue to further muddy the waters. We hope Colorado voters take the time to understand what it means and what it will do. And then, we hope they vote it down.

4) Making a Case for Diversity in STEM Fields

When we were in college some 40 years ago, neither of us ever had an African-American or Latino professor. Unfortunately, even today many students at major American research universities have the same experience. Departments in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics - the STEM fields - are typically the least diverse.
