Wade Henderson, executive director of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, made the following statement in response to Congressman Tom Davis (R-VA) and DC Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton's announcement of support for long-overdue legislation that will give DC residents full representation in the U.S. House of Representatives:
"The Davis-Norton agreement is a breakthrough for the citizens of the District of Columbia and for American democracy. It's a principled and pragmatic blend that will right a wrong and give DC residents a voice in the halls of Congress."
